Rep. Evans Announces Committee and Caucus Assignments
Congressman Gabe Evans announced today his list of committee assignments and caucuses for the 119th Congress.
“I am honored to serve on these committees and to bring the voices of Colorado’s 8th District to the table. These committees and caucuses reflect my priorities of strengthening America’s energy independence, making communities safer, and tackling high costs,” said Congressman Evans.
The Energy and Commerce Committee selected Congressman Evans, marking a historical milestone as he becomes the first incoming freshman to be assigned a seat in 14 years. Within the Energy and Commerce Committee, he will serve on the Energy, Environment, and Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade subcommittees.
This assignment is particularly well-suited to Congressman Evans, who represents Weld County, one of the nation’s leading energy-producing regions and the top producer of oil and gas in Colorado.
“What happens in the People’s House affects people in their homes, and that is especially true of the Committee on Energy and Commerce. Congressman Evans will be a crucial part of our work to remove the burdensome regulations that have suffocated our energy industry and show the world that America is back open for business. I am looking forward to working together to tackle the tough issues and restore the American Dream,” said Energy and Commerce Chairman Brett Guthrie.
Congressman Evans will also serve on the Homeland Security Committee, with assignments to the Subcommittee on Emergency Management and Tech and the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence.
Congressman Evans brings a unique perspective as a former cop and as a combat veteran. His extensive background in crisis management, intelligence, and public safety positions him to make a significant impact on the Committee.
“As a fellow combat veteran and a former first responder, Representative Gabe Evans brings essential experience to the Committee. From serving in law enforcement to piloting search and rescue missions, Representative Evans will be an important voice in the Committee’s work to restore public safety to our communities. I look forward to working alongside him in this vital mission,” said Homeland Committee Chairman Mark Green.
In addition to his committee assignments, Congressman Evans announced he has joined the Problems Solvers Caucus, Main Street Caucus, Republican Governance Group, and For Country Caucus.
