WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Gabe Evans sent a letter to Governor Jared Polis and the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) expressing serious concerns over repeated Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) across Colorado –– including in Weld and Larimer counties –– and calling for immediate action to strengthen the state’s energy infrastructure.

The newly introduced legislation ensures the DOE can work collaboratively with public and private entities to protect America’s critical energy infrastructure from adversaries.

WASHINGTON — Today Congressman Gabe Evans (CO-08) joined House Republicans and Democrats to pass five Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations bills, along with a short-term two-week Continuing Resolution (CR) for the Department of Homeland Security, once again ending a partial government shutdown. 

WASHINGTON —Today Congressman Gabe Evans (CO-08) voted to pass four additional appropriations bills; marking the final steps in completing all 12 Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations measures through the House. 

The final package was advanced as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2026, which included Defense; Homeland Security; Labor, Health and Human Services Education, and Related Agencies; and Transportation (LHHS); and Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD).

Key stakeholder support is flooding in for Congressman Gabe Evans’ Fire Improvement and Reforming Exceptional Events (FIRE) Act. The FIRE Act ensures that states are not punished for smoke and emissions they cannot control, while still maintaining strong environmental protections.
