Healthcare impacts everyone differently. In my immediate family, we’ve had to manage multiple types of life-threatening and complex health conditions. Because of these experiences, I truly appreciate how important it is for all Americans and Coloradans to have access to quality healthcare and insurance coverage, including for pre-existing conditions.
Insurance:
Colorado is currently facing hard times when it comes to health insurers because state-level Democrats have overregulated hospitals and insurance providers, causing the insurers to either leave the state or reduce their coverage. Many folks who have coverage on paper will never use it because Leftist regulations have driven costs sky high.
Drug Prices:
Prescription drug prices have risen to astronomical costs in America while other countries have accessibility to the same medication for a fraction of the cost. We can fix this by cutting out the middle man and putting patients and doctors back in charge. Consumers should have price transparency and be able to take their health plan from one job to the next. This is also why I support free market policies, which will allow good competition and bring down costs. Finally, I have supported policies that increase rural healthcare access by giving physician assistants greater flexibility to treat patients.

Colorado congressional Republicans are asking the state to stop allowing illegal immigrants to enroll in the state’s Medicaid program, Health First Colorado.
The program’s availability to those in the country illegally who meet other requirements for coverage started this year, and the Republicans pitched changes in a letter to Democratic Gov. Jared Polis Wednesday. On Health First Colorado's website, it says, "Don’t let immigration status stop you from applying for health coverage," citing state law.

Evans sat down with Roll Call earlier this month, a few days before a marathon markup session where he joined fellow Energy and Commerce Republicans in advancing their portion of the party’s budget reconciliation package. He talked about his “boots on the ground” experience in law enforcement and the military — and he’s literally still got the boots, which he wears every day.
Today, following an 26.5-hour long markup, Congressman Gabe Evans voted to advance the Energy and Commerce Committee budget reconciliation bill.
