ICYMI: Congressman Evans Interviews about the One Big Beautiful Bill

May 21, 2025

While Democrats continue to support tax hikes  and putting illegal immigrants ahead of kids, pregnant women, and people with disabilities, Congressman Gabe Evans is standing up for Coloradans and our most vulnerable populations. Here’s the round-up of Evans’ interviews today about Republicans’ pro-family, pro-worker, and pro-America legislation:

➡️ After 22 years of experience in the military and law enforcement, you're not scared enough about what the cartels are capable of doing. Every 15 days, the death toll of September 11th is lost in America as a result of illegal drugs, predominantly fentanyl.

➡️ We’re making sure that we have not just physical barriers, but we have all of the supporting infrastructure and technology to go along with a border wall, making sure that we have the recruiting and the retention capability to hire and retain the best border patrol officials.

➡️ At the end of the day, we’re going to get this bill passed because of the things that it does. These are the things that the American people want. In my state of Colorado, this is tax breaks for the bottom 84% of wage-earners. This is extending the Child Tax Credit to families with kids. This is making sure that taxes don’t double on our small businesses.

➡️ Let me be absolutely clear: The Republican program increases Medicaid spending every single year. We’re just going to be more efficient with it by cutting out that fraud, waste, and abuse. […] If you are a lawful beneficiary of Medicaid, we’re fighting to protect that and we’re fighting to put Americans first in this program.

➡️ The American people have spoken loud and clear. They want to make sure that we're putting Americans first.

➡️ [We are] doubling down on protecting the people that this program was designed for. That's people with disabilities. That's kids. That's pregnant women. And for those folks to be cut in line, to have 1.4 million illegal immigrants taking taxpayer money away from them and going to illegal immigrants, to have 1.2 million people who are ineligible to even receive Medicaid, but who are still getting Medicaid because the Biden Admin didn't allow states to clean up their Medicaid rolls. That's how we're protecting and strengthening Medicaid, by making sure that those resources can go to the people that rely on this.
