ICYMI: Rep. Gabe Evans statement on Medicaid
Congressman Gabe Evans just released this video statement addressing the current conversation about cutting waste and abuse within the Medicaid system.
Before Colorado Democrats can say anything about Medicaid, they should first answer why Colorado is using taxpayer dollars to pay for free health care for illegal immigrants and dead people.
The state is responsible for administering the program, meaning they’re responsible for the inefficient, wasteful spending that prioritizes illegal immigrants and dead people over Coloradans.
This begs the question: Does Governor Polis plan to stop spending Colorado’s Medicaid money on illegal immigrants and dead people?
The facts:
Colorado has spent $13 million dollars on Medicaid for thousands of dead people since 2018.
Colorado is one of just seven states that offer illegal immigrants health care.
The state of Colorado and the federal government have helped pay for Denver Health, which provided $10 million worth of uncompensated medical care to migrants. Colorado should put that money towards Coloradans, not illegal immigrants.
The Trump Administration has been bullish on removing wasteful spending on Medicaid for illegal immigrants too.
Other states have proven that cutting spending for illegal immigrants is a successful way to reduce spending.
