Rep. Gabe Evans Condemns Colorado Democrats for Voting to Shut Down Government

March 14, 2025

WASHINGTON – Congressman Gabe Evans issued the following statement in response to Colorado Democrats in the House and Senate voting in favor of shutting down the government, hurting veterans, and disrupting Medicaid and Social Security:

If Colorado Democrats had it their way, they would have shut down the government and jeopardized essential services and programs that our Colorado families, seniors, and small businesses rely on. Every Colorado Democrat in the House and Senate put politics ahead of people. The federal government remains open thanks to Republicans, not Colorado Democrats.” –Congressman Gabe Evans

By voting against the continuing resolution, every Colorado Democrat voted in favor of:

❌ Shutting down the government.

❌ Delaying veterans’ benefits.

❌ Disrupting funding to recipients of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.

❌ Nutrition assistance programs running out of funding and not being able to provide food for children and parents in need.

❌ Temporarily closing Head Start Programs and denying funding to children and families.

❌ Delaying relief projects.

❌ Small businesses to not be able to obtain loans from the SBA.

❌ Closing National Parks.

❌ Delayed tax refunds.
