Rep. Gabe Evans Promotes CO08-Made Energy with a Colorado Energy Tour

March 14, 2025

Congressman Gabe Evans promoted safe, reliable, and affordable energy on his tour of oil, solar, and wind energy production companies based in CO-08. Partnering with The Western Way yesterday, Evans toured Bayswater (oil and natural gas development), Pivot Energy (solar and energy storage), and Vestas Nacelles factory (wind turbine manufacturing).

Rep. Evans said: “CO-08 energy production and a strong economy go hand-in-hand. Embracing all types of energy production brings jobs to our district and supports domestic energy, which in turn lowers costs for Colorado families. Strengthening our district’s energy production is a win for America as a whole.”

The Western Way said: “The Western Way is excited to host this ‘all of the above’ energy tour for Congressman Evans right here in CD8. We are visiting a natural gas production facility, dual use solar production site, and a wind energy component factory. When Congressman Evans gets to meet the people who work at these sites and hear their stories about providing safe, reliable and affordable energy, he’ll be an even more effective voice in Congress for his district, for Colorado and the USA.”

Bayswater said: “Bayswater is proud to host U.S. Congressman Gabe Evans (CD-8) on one of our Denver Julesburg (DJ) Basin sites in Weld County, Colorado as part of his ‘all of the above’ energy tour. Colorado leads the nation in responsible oil and natural gas development, supplying the domestic energy that supports our American way of life and keeps our nation secure and energy independent. Bayswater has been operating in Colorado’s DJ Basin since 2009 and is proud to produce Colorado oil and natural gas—some of the cleanest energy molecules in the country and worldwide.”

Pivot Energy said: "Pivot Energy is excited that Congressman Evans visited one of our dual-use solar projects in Weld County, Colorado and saw how solar and agriculture production work together to maximize the co-benefits of our solar projects. As demand for energy continues to rise, Weld County is a prime example of how an “All of the Above” energy approach is creating jobs, and providing economic benefits and low-cost, reliable power for local communities.”

Vestas North America said: “Vestas was honored to host Representative Gabe Evans at our nacelle factory in Brighton, Colorado. We fully support Representative Evans' position that an all of the above energy approach is needed to help meet the nation’s growing energy demand. With nearly 1,800 manufacturing employees in Colorado and $1.7 billion spent across the U.S. supply chain last year alone, Vestas is committed to strengthening domestic energy production, supporting local economic development, and powering communities across the U.S.”

Background:

  • CO-08 includes a large portion of Weld County, one of the highest energy-producing counties in the country and is the number one producer of oil and gas in Colorado.

  • 82% of all crude oil production and 56% of all natural gas production in Colorado comes from Weld County. Wind, solar, geothermal, and many other energy technologies are also heavily represented in the district and critical to the economy of Weld, Adams, and Larimer counties.

  • Evans is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, making history as the first incoming freshman appointed to the committee in 14 years. The last freshman appointed was then-Rep. Cory Gardner.
