WASHINGTON — Former cop Congressman Gabe Evans today introduced his first bill: The Unhandcuffing Police to Locate and Interdict Foreign Transgressors (UPLIFT) Act. The UPLIFT Act pushes back against Colorado's sanctuary state policies, supports local police, and helps get dangerous criminals off our streets.

Today Congressman Gabe Evans delivered his first speech on the House floor on the HALT Fentanyl Act, legislation to give law enforcement tools to tackle the fentanyl crisis, stop traffickers, and protect communities from the deadly impact of illegal drugs.

Congressman Gabe Evans is leading an effort to apply pressure on Governor Jared Polis to seek answers on what exactly Polis plans to do about the state’s immigration problems.

Evans penned a letter with Congressman Jeff Crank (CO-05) and Congresswoman Lauren Boebert (CO-04) in response to Polis’ recent State of the State address, in which he completely backtracked on his previous rhetoric about immigration.

Congressman Gabe Evans announced today his list of committee assignments and caucuses for the 119th Congress.
